The one problem with this mouse is that its left mouse wears out. Possibly the correct button would also, given enough use. I purchased this mouse to replace the same one, whose left-click went south. Single clicks were registering as double-clicks, which has been causing all kinds of issues, obviously. But before the same thing happens to this new one, it’s a good basic mouse that’s easy to use.
In cold temperatures, the XN966’s wire is still quite soft and elastic; the cable of this downgraded or wrong one is quite stiff, not elastic when it is not cold, possibly even in warmer temperatures; although the actual one and incorrect one seem to be the same.
A terrific mouse and a fantastic price IMO. When there are plenty of mice on the market, trust that this one will serve you well.

The problem is that if my first action is to scroll, it won’t register that action right away, and I don’t know if it was because I was scrolling incorrectly, or if the mouse just didn’t register what I was intending to do.

This is a fairly basic mouse. I bought it to prevent the extra features of other mice, but I probably should have spent a bit more. I had used what I believed was this mouse at work, but apparently this one is much cheaper. The mouse at work is heavier and really has slide pads. The skid pads on this mouse are now just the plastic of the body that drops below to look like slide pads. Notice the screw hole moving through the slide pad. Since the slide pad is plastic rather than a softer material, the mouse wobbles on a level surface. I would like a good device that doesn’t rattle when shaken.
The scroll wheel takes a little to split in. In the beginning, it seems terrible, but after a few weeks of use, it’s gotten smoother, while still maintaining some immunity.
